1. Past emergencies and recovery needs

In 2019, Presidio County Emergency Services Coordinator Gary Mitschke told Marfa Public Radio, about a proposed festival, "We don't have the emergency shelter capacity for 6,500 people -- not in the whole county" (Marfa Public Radio). In a county that size, a kitchen outage has no quick backup. A mobile kitchen trailer rental and cold storage planned in advance give a school, care facility, or event a fallback.

2. Major construction

Water and wastewater projects at Fort D.A. Russell and the East Heights depended on Texas Water Development Board funding; in August 2026 the Big Bend Sentinel reported the county couldn't apply for construction funding because it wasn't up to date on required annual audits, leaving the projects with an uncertain future (Big Bend Sentinel). Utility construction can take a kitchen's water or sewer offline; a trailer with its own connections bridges it.

3. Major renovation

Infrastructure ages: in 2015 the city got a $705,000 low-interest state loan to build a new well after a failed attempt to repair an 80-year-old well damaged when a pump lodged in its casing (Marfa Public Radio). Older restaurant and school kitchens face the same wear. A temporary kitchen, a dishwashing trailer, or a refrigeration trailer covers a remodel.

4. Emergency equipment access

Marfa is far from the nearest equipment yards, so delivery is planned as a long haul: we confirm the address, route, turning room, and parking surface, and set delivery dates well before the kitchen needs to open.

5. Local rental costs

Equipment rates in Marfa are the same as anywhere we deliver: kitchens from $4,995 a month, dishwashing trailers from $4,995, and refrigeration from $1,895. Delivery, setup, and pickup are quoted for your address; utilities, water and wastewater service, permits, fuel, and food are not included. Use the rental calculator for a preliminary figure, then send your Marfa address and dates for a quote.

What to send with a Marfa inquiry

  • The site address and ZIP code, with a photo or site plan of where the trailer would park.
  • The last operating day of the permanent kitchen and the rental term you need.
  • Meals per day, menu, dish volume, and whether cold storage is also offline.
  • Available electrical service, potable water, and your wastewater plan.
  • Whether the site is inside or outside Marfa city limits.
  • Water and wastewater connections, or a plan for hauling, confirmed before delivery.

See the Marfa mobile kitchen trailer rental page for equipment and the quote form, and our Marfa approval guide for permits. These public records don't mean Family Entertainment Group USA served the projects described; an inquiry doesn't reserve equipment.
