These examples come in two kinds. Public examples are documented events and incidents in Detroit Lakes, with sources; they are not projects we served. Planning scenarios are hypothetical, written to show how a rental could be set up.
Public examples
WE Fest
The Becker County Sheriff's Office logged 659 calls for service during WE Fest, August 2 to 5, 2023, not counting Detroit Lakes Police calls (Lakes Area Radio). Valley News Live reported in 2025 that Soo Pass Ranch's infrastructure is mostly permanent, with plans to shelter in place, use the campgrounds, or move to vehicles in severe weather (Valley News Live).
Tornado near Big Floyd Lake, July 2026
Cleanup followed a tornado that damaged homes and downed trees, with a shelter at M State (Valley News Live).
Planning scenarios
Planning scenario: resort kitchen between seasons
A lake resort renovates its kitchen in spring. A kitchen trailer and refrigerated trailer serve early-season guests until the remodel is done.
Planning scenario: storm-recovery meals
After a storm, a community organization feeds volunteers from a kitchen trailer parked at a shelter site, with a dish trailer for reusable trays.
Matching the equipment
A mobile kitchen trailer replaces a cooking line; a dishwashing trailer replaces a dish room; a refrigeration trailer adds cold storage. Many Detroit Lakes projects need only one of the three.
Detroit Lakes rentals use the same starting rates as every other location: kitchens from $4,995 a month, dishwashing trailers from $4,995, and refrigeration from $1,895. Delivery, setup, and pickup are quoted for your address; utilities, water and wastewater service, permits, fuel, and food are not included. Use the rental calculator for a preliminary figure, then send your Detroit Lakes address and dates for a quote.
Read the Detroit Lakes planning guide, then request a quote from the Detroit Lakes mobile kitchen trailer rental page.
