How to use this guide

Open your state to find its emergency management and public health or food safety agencies, the state rental page, and the small towns we serve there. Your county or city health department usually approves a temporary kitchen; the state agencies set the wider rules and, during a declared emergency, the access limits that affect delivery. For any state, USA.gov lists the official state government website.

We link only agency pages that returned a working page in our automated check on November 3, 2026. Where an agency's site blocked the check or had moved, we left it out rather than guess; use the state's USA.gov page to find it.

The rules behind the review

Most state and local food codes are built from FDA's model Food Code. Our health approval guide covers what to send your health department for a mobile kitchen trailer rental.
